From the Editors: Your Input Needed
Dear readers,
Last fall, we came up with a Six-Month Plan, or as we called it, the Reset.
The core members of the staff at ERR News resolved to implement a number of changes: improving coverage, increasing the amount of original content and employing a livelier approach, including embracing Web 2.0.
Although the changes continue and some of them have not happened as fast as we'd have liked, a few quantifiable results are in: readership in the past three months has increased by 20-25 percent compared to the same period in 2012. At this point, we'd like to welcome new readers and thank everyone for their continued interest, support and participation.
But in this age of viral traffic, even a good analytics platform doesn't tell the full story.
That's why we'd want to hear from you on how we are doing.
It's a good week for a survey. Not only are more people reading ERR News regularly, not everyone may have left yet on summer vacation.
ERR's IT department, which produced an award-winning app that made ERR content easy to access on mobile devices a few years ago, is hard at work developing a new version of ERR's portals, and there's still time to incorporate suggestions.
The survey is longer than we hoped but shorter than you might have feared, and there are none of those "required" questions. Please take five minutes or so to complete it, give us your unsparing criticisms, bring us down to earth, and most importantly, help us build a better, more informative, balanced site.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
The Editors
