A study by TNS Emor found that every eighth employee is thinking about moving abroad, with young people and non-ethnic Estonians in particular feeling the emigration itch as their connection with the nation is weaker.
People who earn an average salary are most likely to seek employment outside the country, with managers and specialists preferring to stay and lower-income employees seeking higher paid jobs within Estonia, Emor said in a press release today.
Every third employee has thought about changing jobs in the last year, a statistic that is on the rise as unemployment has decreased.
Ferry operator Tallink, the state-owned Port of Tallinn and Eesti Energia have the best reputations as employers, based on the survey's findings.
TNS Emor interviewed 500 employees in April for the study.
