IT Students Demand Their Instructor Be Sacked
Students of the IT College have written a petition demanding that their mathematics professor be fired because he failed 94 percent of his first-year students in an exam.
Students also accused the instructor, Peeter Lorents, a public figure and former politician, of bad communication skills and racism toward international students.
Lorents failed 135 students and passed just nine in his Logic and Algorithm Theory class, according to uudised.err.ee.
So far, 73 students have signed the petition.
Rector Tiit Roosmaa told Õhtuleht that the school has never before received such serious complaints about an instructor's behavior. The school is looking into the matter.
