This Weekend's Weather: Tepid, Some Rain
The ambivalent, not-quite-warm temperatures that Estonia has experienced over the last two days should continue through the weekend, accompanied by periods of rain and thunderstorms.
A low pressure zone moving up from the south tonight is expected to bring a mass of moist air to the country, leading to nationwide cloudiness by morning, according to the Meteorology and Hydrology Institute. Showers, including thunderstorms, could hit western parts of the country by the early hours of Saturday, spreading east during the day. Some areas of rain could be intense. Temperatures should generally be in the 17 to 22 C range, though they could rise to around 25 C in the east. Overnight, they should drop to 12 to 17 C.
On the mainland, thick rain clouds and thunderstorms are in the cards for late Saturday and early Sunday, but chances of precipitation on the islands are lower. By day, the precipitation and thunderclouds should migrate eastward, mainly affecting central Estonia and the east, while leaving the west coast relatively dry. Thermometer readings for both day and night should be a carbon copy of what they were on Saturday.
Thanks to a high-pressure zone expected for Monday, the picture for the beginning of next week looks more calm.
