Liviko, an Estonian-based alcohol producer, has entered into a business partnership with Nihon Shurui Hanbai Co., Japan's biggest alcohol wholesaler.

The Estonian company also announced that it will be closing its subsidiary in Japan, saying it needs to raise flexibility and efficiency.

Liviko currently exports eight products to the Japanese market, a press release said.

"Liviko's Asia strategy continues to be topical and we wish to further expand the list of export countries in the region. In addition to Japan, where we have firmly sealed a presence, the sales of Liviko products to Thailand are also growing and we have started cooperation with China and negotiations with India," said Liviko CEO Janek Kalvi.
