Tonight: Nõmme Kalju to Make Last-Ditch Champions League Push
The fate of Estonian football club Nõmme Kalju in this year's UEFA Champions League will be decided tonight in a match against third qualifying round rivals Viktoria Plzeň in the Czech Republic.
Kalju are the second Estonian club to ever make it so far in the UEFA competition, but their chances of advancing further are slim at best after their 0-4 defeat in the first leg in Tallinn last Tuesday. As it stands, the Estonians would need to score at least four goals to progress.
Matters were complicated further yesterday when the team's evening practice had to be ended early due to a sudden thunderstorm that sent chairs and benches flying around the pitch, the team wrote on its website.
The match is set to begin at 21:15 Estonian time (18:15 UTC). It is not scheduled to be aired on Estonian Public Broadcasting, but ERR News will post the result.
