Centennial Oaks Project Takes Seed
A project to nurture thousands of oak trees began on Sunday with the aim of having parks of 100 oaks each flourishing across the nation by 2018, when Estonia turns 100.
Organizers have called on schools, municipalities or individual families to plant 100 trees at home this year, so that the trees can be replanted in parks, groves or alleys across Estonia in five years.
The project is being organized by the Government Office and help is on hand from experts from the State Forest Management Center, the Private Forest Union and the Forest Society.
Those willing to participate are asked to register. For more information, click here (in English).
