Election Weekend Weather: Voters May Get Soggy
Those heading out to cast their ballots on elections Sunday could be faced with rain and even sleet, courtesy of a low-pressure system moving in from the east.
A cold air mass arriving in the country Friday will continue to bring a wind and precipitation Friday night, but chances of rain will be lower after midnight, according to the latest from the Meteorology and Hydrology Institute.
Saturday should come with the occasional shower here and there, as well as winds in the 25 to 45 kph range, gusting to 55 kph in places. Daytime temperatures are expected to be 4 to 8 C around the country. By night, these should drop to -3 C inland to + 3 C on the coasts.
The scattered showers and sleet on Sunday are expected to be accompanied by weaker winds and temperatures from 4 to 7 C. If the sky clears and the winds die down, they could remain in the 0 to 5 C zone at night.
