Finnish police investigators said Thursday that they are pressing for the indictment of three women accused of running a prostitution ring in Finland.

According to the accusations in what investigators described as a large file sent in to the court, the women, born in 1984, 1974 and 1963, got into the procuring business in spring 2011 and developed a large customer base in southern and central Finland, Eesti Päevaleht reported.

Their organization had around 50 prostitutes in 30 locations, police said at a press conference, with all of the prostitutes recruited in Estonia.

Tampere police investigators said at the press conference that the accused madams focused on smaller towns where they felt there would be less vice enforcement.

Two Finnish men who allegedly rented space to the Estonian women also face criminal charges.
