Estonia will send two rescue experts, along with equipment to set up a base camp for rescue workers, and 150,000 euros in aid to the typhoon-ravaged Philippines.

The two experts will be a part of a Scandinavian and Luxembourg rescue team, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release today.

Two-thirds of the financial aid will be channeled to the country via UNICEF, with the rest going through the Red Cross.

Typhoon Haiyan, one of the most powerful storms to hit land on record, crossed over parts of the Philippines from Friday, with estimates putting the number of dead at around 10,000, with hundreds of thousands of people displaced.
