Bomb Explodes in Jõhvi, One Injured ({{commentsTotal}})

This morning sometime before 08:00, a bomb exploded in front of a home on Eha street in Jõhvi, hospitalizing one man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the man had found a suspicious device in his garbage container that exploded upon contact, reported Postimees. It is not yet clear what type of explosive it was.

Police were notified of the explosion at 07:41, after which the surrounding residential area was evacuated and two streets were blocked off. A large bus arrived to provide evacuees shelter from the cold.

Investigators and explosives experts are on the scene.
