Baltic Defense Innovation Conference Winds Up ({{commentsTotal}})

Around 160 military and civilian defense specialists gathered in Tallinn for a two-day conference focusing on security innovations for the Baltic states.

Topics at the Baltic Defense Innovation Conference will include combat vehicles of the future; fire leading and anti-aircraft capability; mine countermeasures; intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance; and command, control and communications systems, a statement from the meeting's coordinator said.

Energy efficiency on the unit level, cyber defense and achievements in developing unmanned aircraft will also be discussed, and NATO’s leading researcher, Maj. Gen. Albert Husniaux, will deliver an address at the conference on the role of research and technology in military innovation.

The event was jointly organized by the three countries' defense ministries as well as the Tartu-based Baltic Defense College and the International Center for Defense Studies in Tallinn.
