According to forecasts by the Ministry of Finance and the Government Office, the average monthly gross wage nine years will be 1,741 euros, nearly double the 930 euros recorded in the third quarter of 2013.

The state is estimating that tax, both social and income tax, from salaries will increase by 6.3 percent on average between 2013 and 2023, Delfi reported today.

The calculations show that the county's workforce will increase until 2017, after which demographic changes will reverse the trend.

The average gross wage was only 68 euros in 1993, but tripled in four years and increased to 430 euros by 2003, and with the exception of 2009, has been on the rise since.
