Margus Hunt's dreams of a Big Apple Super Bowl are over for this year, as his team lost in the first round of the US National Football League playoffs.

Hunt took the field twice for the Cincinnati Bengals in the game against the San Diego Chargers, which they lost 27-10, and for the first time at home this year.

The Bengals have not made it beyond the first round of the playoffs in 23 years.

The Chargers will face the Denver Broncos in the next round.

Hunt joined the Bengals at the beginning of the year for his first season as a professional NFL player, having previously won junior world championship gold medals in discus and shot put.
