Tele2 has won the third, and last license to provide 4G mobile internet coverage using the 790-862 MHz frequency band, outbidding cable company Starman.

The license will set the company back 5.1 million euros, the same as Elisa payed in the second sale, the Technical Surveillance Authority said in a press release today.

As EMT won the first round, all three of Estonia's major mobile service providers now have the right to use the frequency, which is suitable for developing data communication services.

The state has already earmarked the 5.1 million euros from today's auction to partially fill a gap in the 2014 state budget left by Parliament's rejection of a draft law that would have forced businesses to pay VAT on company-owned cars used for private purposes.
