Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar, who is also the President of the Estonian Skating Union, will be present at the opening ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympic games in Russia.

Head of the city's media service, Alar Rästa, told ETV that the mayor will participate in the opening ceremony, but could also stay longer to take in sporting events.

According to Delfi, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has said he will not travel to Russia, citing a full work schedule, but Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, an avid athlete, will attend the opening ceremony, as part of a holiday with his family.
