First F-15s Land at Ämari ({{commentsTotal}})

Estonia's main airbase, Ämari, reached a milestone on Thursday with its first landing of one of the world's best known fighter jets, the US F-15.

The fighters are part of the NATO Baltic air policing mission and are stationed in Saulia, Lithuania, a statement from the Headquarters of the Defense Forces said.

The visit ended with the sound of a training siren, after which the jets took off to locate and visually confirm two "unidentified" aircraft that were in fact Estonian jet trainers.

Other US fighter jets, such as A-10s, F-16s and F-18s have landed at Ämari.
