Estonia Pledges Additional Support for Syrian Refugees
Estonia will donate another 200,000 to projects supporting Syrian refugees, the Foreign Ministry has announced.
Half of that sum will be diverted to education for refugees in Lebanon through UNICEF, with the remaining 100,000 earmarked for refugees in Jordan, the ministry said today.
A third of the three million Syrian refugees who have fled the nation since the civil war broke out in 2011 are in Lebanon and around 600,000 are in Jordan.
Estonia has already donated around one million euros to the cause, including support for the same projects as the current donation. The last donation, of 100,000 euros, was made in December.
