Estonia began well in the first level of the Fed Cup held in Tallinn, beating the Namibian team in straight sets.

In the two singles matches, Anett Kontaveit and Kaia Kanepi both vanquished their opponents, 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively on Wednesday evening.

Eva Paalma and Tatjana Vorobjova won 7-5, 6-2 in the doubles match, giving Estonia a third point.

Armenia is next for Estonia, at 16:00 local time on Friday in Tallinn's Tere Tennis Center.

In the other matches in the Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group III tournament yesterday, Greece beat Cyprus 3-0, Denmark beat Madagascar 3-0 and Ireland beat Iceland by the same score.

The winners of the four groups will advance to the playoffs.
