New Equipment for Tartu Eye Clinic Improves Eyesight Exams ({{commentsTotal}})

New equipment at the the Eye Clinic of the Tartu University Hospital makes it easier to diagnose disorders like lazy eye more efficiently.

The equipment, bought in co-operation with the Children's Fund and the retail company Selver, is used for electrophysiological measurements that allow to assess eyesight, allowing for an early diagnosis of “lazy eye”, for example, ERR radio news reported.

It is the second instrument of its kind in Estonia and the first one in southern Estonia. It opens up new horizons for diagnostics, facilitating diagnosing mainly two groups: monitoring the development of children's eyesight and diseases of the fundus and optic nerve, Kuldar Kaljurand, the head of the clinic, commented.
