Tänak Finishes 5th in Rally Sweden
Ott Tänak, who is making a comeback at this year's WRC rally circuit, finished a more than respectable fifth in his first rally in Sweden over the weekend.
Speaking at a press conference in mid-December, when announcing his return after a one-year hiatus, Tänak said that this is his second and last chance to break through, and the first stages showed the 26-year-old meant business, finishing second on stage two and first on stage five.
Tänak dropped off a little after that in the 24-stage race, but was still 1:30 faster than the sixth place. Finn Jari-Matti Latvala won the rally, outpacing Tänak by three minutes.
Estonian Karl Kruuda, also driving a Ford, came 11th.
Tänak and his co-driver Raigo Mõlder will travel to Mexico for the next start, taking part in the WRC2 race.
