Mikser: Social Dems Ready to Come Out of Shadows
Social Democrats Chairman Sven Mikser said his party is ready to enter government if the current coalition disintegrates.
“A change in government could already happen in the next few weeks,” said Mikser, speaking at a party function on Saturday.
He said the Social Democrats should not wait for only great choices, as Estonia could be waiting too long, adding that the party's main aim is to form a social democratic government after the 2015 elections.
Speaking about the upcoming European Parliament elections, Mikser said that their aim is two seats out of six allocated for Estonia. He said he agrees with Edgar Savisaar that one of Estonia's representatives in the European Parliament should be of Russian origin, adding that Jevgeni Ossinovski is such a candidate.
Social Democrat MP Eiki Nestor said that the move to bring back Siim Kallas could arrive too late for the Reform Party. He told Delfi on Sunday that the party is telling voters that the good old Reform Party is back, and that slogan could already be tested at the May European Parliament elections.
