Honorary Consulate Opened in Miami
Estonia opened a new consulate last week to serve Estonians with a legitimate status inside the United States.
The consulate is located in St. Petersburg, Florida, at Eckerd College, and is tasked with serving 56 surrounding counties. More than 20 families were served during the first visit of the Estonian Consul General, Sten Schwede, and the Honorary Consul of Miami, Jorge L. Viera, on Friday and Saturday.
They accepted applications for new identity cards, new passports, and passport renewals. Lisa Ann Mets will lead the consulate.
Estonia has similar consulates in other U.S. cities, including: Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, St. Petersburg, Fla., Huntersville, N.C., Charlestown, S.C, Portsmouth, N.H., Lincoln, Neb., and Houston, Texas.
