Reform Party Steals IRL Popularity in Monthly Poll
The Reform Party gained three percentage points in the fresh TNS Emor monthly poll, while its outgoing coalition partner IRL dropped three points.
If parliamentary elections were held today, the Reform Party would collect 24 percent of votes (21 percent a month ago), while only 16 percent (19 percent last month) would back IRL.
“As IRL has been expelled from the coalition, the Reform Party is seen as the winner, the dominating force,” Aivar Voog, an expert at Emor, said.
The current opposition forces of the Center Party (27 percent) and the Social Democrats (26 percents) still lead the popularity charts, although neither saw any change compared to mid-February.
Voog said that although the current opposition parties saw no change, a trend in the second half of the study began to show an increase in support for the Social Democrats, who have signed a coalition agreement with the Reform Party to form the next government.
