Latvia Could Play Football Qualifiers in Tallinn
The Latvian national football team could be forced to play its Euro 2016 games in Tallinn as the nation currently has no stadiums meeting UEFA requirements.
According to Delfi, which cites the Telegraph, necessary reconstruction works at the Riga Skonto stadium would cost 300,000 euros, but it would make more financial sense to hold the games at the A. Le Coq Stadium in Tallinn, some 300 kilometers from Riga.
Mihkel Uiboleht, the Estonian Football Federation's spokesman, said today he will not speculate on such a development, adding that they are positive their Latvian colleagues will solve the problem.
Latvia will face the Netherlands, who had lost their perfect record in the previous qualifiers in Tallinn last year, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Iceland and Kazakhstan.
Estonia has been drawn against England, Switzerland, Slovenia, Lithuania and San Marino.
