The Ministry of Culture will submit a proposal to the government on improving the capabilities of the Russian language newsrooms.

The proposal concerns Radio 4, the news portal rus.err.ee and the Russian news program Aktuaalne Kaamera, ETV reported on Monday.

In an interview with ETV, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture Paavo Nõgene highlighted the fact that the Russian news program doesn’t have a reporter based in Narva, where the majority of residents are Russian speakers.

He added that the next step is to form a wide-based expert committee to discuss the possibilities for developing Russian language information sphere in Estonia.
