ISS Arrests Head of Narva's Social Services Department ({{commentsTotal}})

The Internal Security Service (ISS, or KaPo) has detained Galina Vologdina, the head of the Social Services Department in Estonia's third-largest town, accusing her of defrauding the state.

“Vologdina was arrested on May 7. She is suspected of stealing from the state. The police completed the necessary investigation and the suspect was released,” a spokesman for the Viru District Prosecutor's Office, Jelena Filippova, told on Thursday.

No further details of the charge have been revealed.

Narva Mayor Eduard East said Deputy Mayor Tatjana Patsanovskaja will take over Vologdina's duties for the time being.

Vologdina has been the head of the department since January 2007.
