IRL Takes Over Estonia's Richest Municipality
Viimsi municipality, the nation's richest, saw a successful power grab on Tuesday by IRL council members, ousting the Reform Party.
“The reason for the no confidence vote was the leadership style of the Reform Party, which has focused solely on blaming the previous municipality government,” Jan Trei said in a IRL press release.
The council held a no confidence vote against three members of the Reform Party, one member of the Center Party and one independent local government member. All votes were successful for the initiators.
Trei was then elected to lead the council of the municipality, which sits just outside of Tallinn. A number of members of IRL and the election coalition of “Partyless Viimsi” will also take posts in the government.
