Defense Committee: NATO Collective Defense Maneuvers Left Powerful Mark
The Estonian National Defense Committee visited the Kevadtorm military maneuvers on Monday, and its members said the exercise left a powerful impression.
“Kevadtorm is paramount to Estonia as here plans on paper materialize and that in cooperation between conscripts, professional soldiers, volunteer home guard members and military personnel from other nations,” Mati Raidma, the chairman of the committee said.
Raidma said NATO's collective defense is visible here and convincing, and that in the current security environment in Europe, that is of great value.
The committee met General Hans-Lothar Domröse, the head of the Allied Joint Force Command in Brunssum, Netherlands, who was also visiting the military exercise.
Kevadtorm will end on Friday, and with 6,000 participants, was the largest ever held.
