Kanepi Sees Ranking Drop After Upset Loss
After her surprise first-round loss in the 2014 French Open on Saturday, Kaia Kanepi's world ranking paid the price.
The latest women's tennis rankings, which once had her as high as 13th in the world, now has the Estonian star at 39th.
Kanepi became the first seeded player to fall in the French Open as she was ousted by Romania's Monica Niculescu in three sets 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
Estonian 18-year-old talent Anett Kontaveidil is ranked 187th.
The Men's ATP rankings dropped Jürgen Zopp four spots to 335th.
