Chocolate manufacturer Kalev has announced a net profit of 2.4 million euros in 2013, up 44 percent compared to the previous year.

Turnover also increased, by 9 percent, to 38.5 million euros.

A total of 8,700 tons of sweets were sold, with 12 percent being exported. Half of export volumes ended up in Finland.

The company set up a new production line in 2013, which tripled the speed of making candy.
