Estonia Again 5th in 'Most Hostile' List in Russian Study
Estonia was again ranked fifth as the least friendly country to Russia in a May poll conducted of the public by the Levada-Center, a non-governmental polling and sociological research organization.
The annual survey (in Russian) asks residents of Russia to name the five countries that are most unfriendly and hostile to Russia.
The US, which edged out Georgia last year, continued in the top spot with a 69 percent unpopularity rating.
Ukraine (30 percent) made a return to the list at second due to the conflict with Russia over Crimea and Ukraine's eastern region, with Lithuania (24 percent) in third, Latvia (23 percent) and Estonia (21 percent) rounding off the top five. Georgia, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Canada also made the top 10.
Estonia's score marks the second lowest result in the poll, after receiving a 21 percent negative rating last year. The nation topped the list in 2007, after the Bronze Soldier riots, with 60 percent.
Belarus (51 percent), China (40), Kazakhstan (37), Armenia (15) and India (13) were polled as the Russians' most favorite countries.
