IRL Concedes in Case of Purloined Name of Savisaar
Pro Patria and Res Publica Union (IRL) says it will not appeal a court decision that found that it should not have appropriated rival politician Edgar Savisaar's name for use in an Internet domain.
Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar prevailed in the Harju County Court case where he filed action against the national conservative party for registering the domain name edgarsavisaar.ee and using other forms of the politician's name in domain name applications.
The court decision recently entered into force, said a court spokeswoman.
Almost all of the main permutations of Savisaar's initials and names were involved.
The above domain name was registered on September 7 by IRL, and the party posted articles that they said pointed to corrupt transactions and decisions by the mayor.
