Siret Kotka to Replace Convicted MP ({{commentsTotal}})

The Parliament's board decided today that Siret Kotka is in line to replace shamed Center Party MP Ester Tuiksoo, who received a three-month suspended sentence for her role in the land swap fiasco.

Monday's Supreme Court, the nation's highest court level decision means the case is closed for Tuiksoo, and despite the light sentence, she is forced to resign from Parliament.

Kotka, 28, was the head of the Center Party's youth branch and is a member of the party's board. She is from the village of Triigi in the Väike-Maarja municipality.

She is currently the adviser to Tallinn Deputy Mayor Taavi Aas.
