Hanno Tomberg Named Head of Enterprise Estonia
Tomberg will head the the state tourism and entrepreneurship support agency from July 14 and according to director of the board Ahti Kuningas, the decision was unanimous. Tomberg impressed the board with his vision for Enterprise Estonia and his extensive experience, uudised.err.ee reported on Wednesday.
Tomberg told ETV that the organization must shift the focus from granting subsidies to advising companies and boosting Estonia’s economy and competitiveness.
“Enterprise Estonia must be the first partner the Estonian entrepreneurs go to for executing their ideas and should focus on companies with great export capabilities. Enterprise Estonia has done its work well when in 2020, Estonia has more success stories to show than it does today,” Tomberg said.
Enterprise Estonia has been struggling to find a leadership, having seen the dismissal or quitting of two heads in six months. In May, the minister for foreign trade and entrepreneurship minister, Anne Sulling, replaced the board.
