The first event of the Song and Dance Festival begins today with the performance of the 19th dance celebration “Puudutus” ("The Touch" in English) at Kalev Central Stadium.

Tonight's performance is based on a tale written by Sten Weudenbaum depicting the dangers of passing through life in today's fast-paced world while losing touch what is really important.

Head of the Dance Festival, Maido Saar, said practice runs have been successful and the dancers have connected with the theme.

Over 10,000 dancers, the most ever, will take part.

Tonight's performance will be shown live on ETV, beginning 18:00 (local time).
