Kaia Kanepi won $100,000 in prize money by winning the Open GDF Suez de Biarritz, a clay-court tournament in Biarritz, France.

The Estonian, the top seed at the tournament defeated Brazil's Teliana Pereira 6-2, 6-4 to capture the singles title.

Kanepi is currently ranked No. 66 in the world and has been playing on the International Tennis Federation circuit. She won her first-round matchup at Wimbledon against Jelena Jankovic before falling to Karolina Pliskova in the second round in June.
