New Listing in a Holy-See-Side Location
The Vatican's embassy in Tallinn has been listed as for sale, with a price tag of 1.95 million euros.
The 540 square-meter house, located in the prestigious Kadriorg district, a few hundred meters from the President's residence, was purchased for the church in 1936, ETV reported on Monday.
The building was confiscated by the Soviet regime and a state news agency resided there until re-independence. The house was handed back to the church in 1993, when Pope John Paul II visited Estonia.
Bishop Philippe Jourdan, who is the apostolic administrator for the Catholic Church in Estonia, said they are seeking a different solution to the house, as it is rarely used.
