Politicians, Stars Continue ALS Challenge Chain, Watch Video
Many prominent Estonian politicians, actors and musicians have accepted the ice bucket challenge, a charity drive to gather funds and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Singer Tanja Mihhailova, who sang Estonia's song at this year's Eurovision, performed the act on ETV's Ringvaade, nominating performer Karl-Erik Taukar, former athlete Kristina Šmigun-Vähi and Evelin Ilves, the current first lady.
Watch that video and clips from other famous Estonians immersing themselves in ice cold water.
Others who have already allowed a bucket of ice cold water to be poured over them, an act said to resemble the symptoms of ALS, include actors Märt Avandi, Evelin Võigemast, politicians Valdo Randpere, Kalle Palling, Jüri Ratas, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, performer Gerli Padar and the entire Põhja-Tallinn band.
ASL, a progressive and fatal motor neuron disease, is fairly unknown in Estonia, click here (in Estonian) for more information from the Muscular Disorders Association.
