Simson: Divide Between Obama and Estonia Is Gone ({{commentsTotal}})

The visit of US President Barack Obama shows Estonian politicians have learned to connect with the current US administration, says Center Party MP and head of a Parliament's US support group Kadri Simson.

Simson told ETV Estonia was one of former President George W. Bush's favorite nations in the region, but Obama has been less confrontational, and more "soft and reserved," she said.

“Estonia has throughout time favored politics which George W. Bush liked, and since Obama preferred very different politics then we, as a favorite of the former president, could not find common ground with the current president. Obama's trip to Estonia certainly shows that mutual understanding has been achieved,” she said.
