Reform Party MP Kaja Kallas said the lack of a functioning bond market means small and medium size (SME) businesses have a hard time finding capital.

“The Estonian bond market needs a boost,” she told Äripäev ton Wednesday, adding that many SMEs in Estonia need capital and many people have funds earning meager return from long-term deposits.

She said a bond market would need high-profile bonds, which would open the door to smaller companies taking to the market for loans.
