Grey Seals Have Their Own Webcam as Pup Season Approaches
Ahead of the birthing season, Looduskalender.ee has relaunched a webcam showing live stream of grey seals in one of their largest nesting sites in Vilsandi National Park in Saare County.
The pups will not be born until the end of December, but dozens of seals are already resting on the shore of Vilsandi island, where they can be monitored live via a webcam here.
The grey seals camera was initially launched in March 2009 and it was the first of its kind in the world.
Estonia is well-known for its many animal webcams which have received millions of hits worldwide. Looduskalender.ee currently also offers live feed from red deer and fish cameras, and Tallinn zoo broadcasts the lives of their snow leopards, Amur leopards, elephants, rhinos, minks and eagles.
