The most successful Estonian company is Olympic Entertainment Group, according to the annual TOP 100 list compiled by the daily Äripäev.
Äripäev explains that the list is dominated by state companies, as it was a tough year for the companies active in the world market.
The success of the state-owned companies is explained by long-term strategic decisions, occupying a specific sector of the market and abiding to strict market regulations.
The most successful company is the Olympic Entertainment Group, known foremost for its casinos and for the 13-story Tallinn Hilton hotel, which is currently under construction on Gonsiori and slated to open in late 2015.
The Olympic Entertainment Group was followed by state-owned electrical grid operator Elering, the Riverside building company, the Port of Tallinn, Estonian Energy, and the engineering company ABB.
