Annual Conference on Human Rights 2014, Tallinn
International Human Rights Day, celebrated on Wednesday, brought to Estonia a number of internationally recognized human rights activists, who were participating in the Annual Conference on Human Rights, organized by the Estonian Institute of Human Rights in Tallinn.
This year's conference "Dignity in the context of human rights" addressed international law, the rights of indigenous people, human rights issues in Russia, and privacy as a human right.
The panelists included Mustafa Dzhemilev, leader of the Crimean Tatar National Movement, Russian journalist and former executive editor of lenta.ru, Galina Timchenko, and NATO's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security Marriët Schuurman.
