Border guard task force to receive €5.5 million base ({{commentsTotal}})

The Ministry of the Interior and State Real Estate have signed an agreement to renovate a base for a special task force with the Police and Border Guard Board, costing around 5.5 million euros.

The base will be home to the recently established special task force which will react to border incidents and undertake special missions, as well as staff working in border check points close to Piusa, in SE Estonia.

Interior Minister Hanno Pevkur said the area around Piusa is one of the toughest eastern border areas for Estonia and renovating the base will be of great help.
