Commander of UK Joint Forces Command visits Estonia ({{commentsTotal}})

Today, General Sir Richard Barrons, who is the Commander of UK Joint Forces Command, is visiting Tallinn.

General Barrons will meet with Commander of the Estonian Defense Forces Lt. Gen. Riho Terras to discuss NATO collective defence and the possibilities for deepening bilateral defence cooperation.

Before the meeting, at 10:45, General Barrons will lay wreaths at the cemetery of the defence forces in Tallinn. He will be accompanied by Christopher Holtby, British Ambassador to Estonia and high officials of the Estonian Defense Forces.

Britain and Estonia have in recent years become formidable allies. Estonian troops served under British command in Afghanistan and the Royal Air Force has repeatedly provided jets for the Baltic Air Policing mission in the absence of local air defence capability. Four RAF Typhoons will again deploy for four months from May and will be based at Ämari Air Base, Estonia.
