Estonia to train Ukraine cyber experts
Estonian government has allocated 100,000 euros to instruct Ukraine in cyber security.
The cyber defense training program, starting from fall, is organized by the Tallinn-based International Center for Defense and Security. It is expected that officials from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and other institutions will be taught.
Estonia has become one of the leading nations in the world in cyber security expertise since 2007, when the country faced cyber-attacks, originating from Russia, that have been widely acknowledged as the world’s first cyber war.
According to the global cyber security index of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Estonia is ranked fifth in the world in the field, and according to the recently published Business Software Alliance (BSA) report, Estonia, Austria and Netherlands are the most cyber-secure countries in Europe.
