Fire kills 3 in Tallinn
A fire in Tallinn's Pirita district claimed three lives last night.
Firefighters were called around 2:30 early morning on Monday after the second floor of a two-story residential building caught fire. Rescue workers found three people in the upper floor, who were all handed over to medical personal. All three died.
The blaze was brought under control bu 3:15 and completely extinguished by 5.
The house did have smoke detectors, but they were not fitted correctly.
The number of people killed in fires so far this year is 26. The figure for 2014 was 54, 10 higher than in 2013.
