Russian An-26 violates Estonian airspace
A Russian An-26 transport plane entered Estonian airspace without permission on Monday noon. Russian ambassador Yuri Merzlyakov has been issued another démarche over airspace violation.
The intrusion happened at 12:50 on June 22 near Vaindloo islet and lasted for less than a minute.
The plane's transponder was switched on and it had a flight plan, which it, however, failed to follow. The plane had radio contact with Estonian air traffic controllers, said Estonian Defense Forces.
The border violation was logged by the Ämari Air Base.
