A delegation of US senators lead by Senator John McCain, a former Republican presidential nominee, will visit Estonia from August 20-21 to meet with Estonian government leaders.

The delegation will also include senators Sheldon Whitehouse and John Barrasso. Their visit is part of a larger regional trip, which will also include stops in Norway, Sweden and Latvia.

The senators will hold a press conference on Friday at 14:00.

The Senat's delegation follows a string of high-profile visitors to Estonia over this summer, including US presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, US defense secretary Ashton Carter and British defense secretary Michael Fallon. US senators Deb Fisher, John Cornyn, Jeff Sessions, John Barrasso, and congressman Mike Conaway also visited Tallinn toward the end of May.

McCain also visited Estonia in April 2014.
